Online Event: Join WISE and #EmbraceEquity this International Women’s Day
March 8 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

This (free) online event is for women and allies in STEM who want to call out gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping in their industries and give equity a huge embrace.
The session will start with a My Skills My Life Workshop. My Skills My Life is a WISE project which aims to match young people’s skills and interests with women role models from the STEM industry and encourages girls to pursue careers in STEM.
The project aims to address our perceptions of STEM, and how we address our gender bias.
For example:
- What does a scientist look like?
- What are women’s roles both in society and business?
We will then hear from three inspiring role models at different career stages who will describe their routes into the STEM industry.
They will describe what inspired them and the problems they have faced and how they overcame these to do a job they are driven by and passionate about.
The event will finish with a debate exploring how we can all embrace equity in the workplace.
