We welcomed Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to our annual conference

We were delighted to welcome the Patron of WISE, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, to our annual conference on Wednesday, 16 October at IET London: Savoy Place.

The annual event brought together the STEM industry to inspire and influence organisations and their employees to build an inclusive workplace for women in the sector.

We welcomed expert speakers to share their thoughts and experiences across a variety of topics such as allyship, women’s health and inclusive leadership.

During her visit, Her Royal Highness met with our members and conference exhibitors to learn more about our mission to pioneer gender equity in STEM.

We were delighted to showcase the work we’ve achieved in our 40-year history as well as demonstrating the dedication and passion from the wider sector to make a real change in ensuring more girls and women find a future in STEM-related careers.

Dr Laura Norton, WISE Managing Director said: “For over 40 years, WISE has been at the forefront of advancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in the UK, working to achieve gender parity across STEM fields through research, outreach, and collaboration with both organisations and individuals. The Princess Royal’s attendance highlights the significance of our mission and reinforces our commitment to supporting women in STEM – past, present, and future. We were delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness to our event, and would like to thank her for her continued support.”

Our annual conference is an opportunity to unite as an industry to effect real change.

We hope by 2030 we see a significant rise in the number of women making up the current STEM workforce, which still sits at just 26%

We will share a full report on the conference in due course, which will outline the key learnings and outcomes from the day.
