WISE announces the retirement of Helen Wollaston, Chief Executive, effective 19 August 2020

Helen joined WISE in 2012 and was the first Chief Executive of the Community Interest Company, with a brief to promote gender balance in STEM. In 2019, the UK celebrated reaching 1m women working in core-STEM, an increase of 350,000 over the previous 10 years.

Helen intends to concentrate on her non-executive career. She is a non-executive director on the board of Zero Waste Scotland, an agency funded by the Scottish Government and the European Regional Development Fund to inform policy and promote the environmental, economic, and social benefits of a circular economy.

Former non-executive roles include Senior Independent Director and Deputy Chair of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Chair of YWCA England and Wales (now the Young Women’s Trust).

The board of WISE thanks Helen for her dedication of the past 8 years and wishes her well.
The work of WISE continues apace.
