The answer to the previous question ‘Which of the following statements is not true?’ is ‘Girls do not perform as well in STEM subject A-Levels as boys’.
Girls currently perform as well or better in the majority of STEM subjects, however the number of girls taking the exams is much lower than the number of boys – we will explore this in more detail in the next section.
The other statements reiterate either the lack of representation of diversity in the general workforce or the difficulties diverse people face:
- just 53.2% of the 7.9 million working people with disabilities are currently in work.
- people from ethnic minority backgrounds are 10.7% less likely to find work than white people.
- 70% of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) workers having been racially harassed at work in the last five years.
