The answer to the previous question Which percentage of millennials and Gen Z-ers say they would be much more likely to work for an employer for more than five years if it has a diverse workforce? is 69%*.
As such, diversity at work has become a bigger and bigger focus — and not just for employers.
The Deloitte Global Gen Z and Millennial Survey 2022 reported a similar finding. It said, ‘societal and environmental impact, along with a diverse and inclusive culture continue to be critical issues in terms of retention. Those who are satisfied with their employers’ societal and environmental impact, and their efforts to create a diverse and inclusive environment are more likely to want to stay with their employer for more than five years.’
The take-away is that younger people really do care about diversity. To make your organisation attractive to new talent you must prioritise equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
