About BAM

We are BAM UK & Ireland, part of the Royal BAM Group. For 150 years, we have been shaping the UK & Ireland’s vital infrastructure and creating many of the country’s most iconic buildings.

We deliver construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, property development and facilities management projects in the public and private sectors. We use the latest digital technologies and modern methods of construction to deliver in a lean, green, and more efficient way.

We want to leave our world a better place than we found it – to build a more sustainable tomorrow.

Our people

At BAM, people are at the heart of everything we do. We employ great people, who we value and support. We prioritise our relationships with our clients and supply chain partners. We strive to strengthen communities and transform lives in the places where we work, leaving a lasting social impact legacy.

We understand that diverse teams deliver the best results for our company and our clients. Our commitment to diversity, inclusion, fairness and respect runs through our whole employee experience at BAM. This means we don’t support ‘one version’ of brilliance, we welcome a wide diversity of skills, experiences, and new perspectives.

We want BAM to be a great place to work and for our people to get the support they need to be themselves.

Supporting women in construction and engineering

We are proud members of WISE. BAM’s Gender Action Network guides and supports our business, using WISE resources to have the greatest impact.

Megan Wilkinson, Chair of BAM’s Gender Action Network, discusses the valuable work of the network: “As the Gender Action Network addresses the ongoing issues that our industry faces regarding gender equality, equity, and parity, we recognise that gender is not binary and will endeavour to encompass and support all genders including women, men, transgendered and non-binary individuals throughout their careers here at BAM.”

“Currently, our objectives include creating a safe space environment for our members, supporting family leave and returners, greater representation within our professional memberships and more broadly supporting ongoing people initiatives.”

BAM’s Gender Action Network supports the education of our people around gender equality, equity and parity. It proactively supports the enhancement of policies and procedures on gendered issues, or where specific genders are affected, and provides authentic support to the business and colleagues where needed.
