As WISE’s Training and Delivery Manager, Athina brings her extensive expertise to ensure the seamless delivery of impactful consultancy, training sessions, and workshops, that are carefully developed and tailored to meet the specific needs of and customers. She also supervises the consistent excellence of webinars, events, content, and products, maintaining the highest quality and relevance.
Athina has a STEM background (Geoscience and Planetary Physics) and has worked as a lab researcher and teaching assistant.
Driven by her passion for equity, diversity and inclusion in STEM, she pursued a pioneering PhD degree that laid the groundwork for understanding the representation and experiences of women within the advanced computing community, which then led to other relevant projects as a Research Associate at the University of Edinburgh.
Athina is also deeply committed to outreach and mentorship. She serves as a trustee for a charitable organisation dedicated to promoting coding among young people, and as Chair of the New Voices in Space group which champions careers in Space.
She has initiated and contributed to several award-winning public engagement and outreach projects, working to make STEM accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or demographics.
