Sarah Helsdown
Software Engineer, MBDA
What is your favourite thing about your job? The best part of being a Reliability Engineer is that I get to work on multiple projects and across different functions. No two days are the same, and I love that I get to learn how something can fail so I can work out how to stop it or put it back together again.
How did you get into STEM? Throughout school I had always been interested in Maths and wanted to know how everything worked! Then during A-Levels someone told me I couldn’t be an engineer because that’s ‘not what girls do’… so naturally I studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hull and never looked back.
Fun fact: I’m part of an ABBA inspired Tag Rugby Team.
