My Skills My Life Training

wise-my-skills-my-life
My Skills My Life (MSML) is an open outreach resource created by WISE to showcase career opportunities in (Science Technology, Engineering and Maths) STEM to young people, focusing on girls.

Unlike traditional career guides, this resource helps girls connect with real people in STEM, making career paths feel more relatable and achievable.

The My Skills My Life ambassador workshop will equip participants with the skills and resources to be able to run their own outreach sessions with young people, to inspire and engage the next generation of STEM talent.

Through this interactive workshop, you will:

  • Learn how to use the My Skills My Life resource and platform to enhance your outreach engagement
  • Develop outreach sessions using MSML to encourage young people to pursue STEM subjects and STEM career paths
  • Recognise yourself as a role model and use your experience to inspire young people, especially girls, into STEM
  • Engage in both individual and group activities that build confidence; identify and address biases; and support planning and delivery of effective outreach sessions
  • Develop practical tools and essential skills for personal and professional growth – such as public speaking, collaborative team-building, and inspirational leadership.

In addition to the workshop, participants can access our My Skills My Life ambassador platform, this helps refresh the workshop content at any given time. Participants can also access additional resources including PowerPoint Presentations, safeguarding information and permission letters for schools.

Our My Skills My Life ambassador workshop can be tailored to support your organisation’s outreach work. Please get in touch with us at WISE@theiet.org to find out more.
