Beth Grant
Theoretical Scientist, AWE
What is your favourite thing about your job? I love being able to dive into complex problems and following research wherever it leads, even if that means heading down a few rabbit holes. I also really enjoy travelling and presenting to specialist audiences internationally, meeting new people in the process.
How did you get into STEM? I knew I wanted a career in STEM as I really enjoyed learning and problem solving, but I didn’t know which route to go down. At A-level I was encouraged to take Geology as well as maths, physics and chemistry. I then attended a university fair where one of the admissions tutors encouraged me to look at Geophysics and I loved it!
Fun fact: I love knitting and crocheting for my friends and family.
