What projects / schemes / initiatives to support women’s recruitment, retention and progression in STEM are Northrop Grumman involved in?
We are committed to progressing opportunities for women, particularly in STEM, an area that has historically employed significantly fewer women than men. NG are recognised as one of the top 25 companies among the S&P 500 for our gender equality performance and we have received numerous other accolades from leading advocacy groups. Currently, 25% of NG’s workforce are female with 34% executive leadership roles being occupied by women.
We believe that creating a team and a workplace that values diversity and fosters inclusion is pivotal to promoting innovation and increasing productivity and profitability. Our goal is to continually support and nurture the large number of Northrop Grumman employees whose backgrounds, characteristics and perspectives are as diverse at the global communities in which we reside
We have five Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in the UK, which are volunteer groups, led by our enthusiastic employees. These ERGs provide huge benefits for both its members and the wider company. Our ERGs have been designed to create an atmosphere where employees can gain and share knowledge, solve problems and build relationships.
Our ERGs range from NGWIN celebrating the women of Northrop Grumman to GreeNG which aims to keep our workforce and company environmentally aware and sustainable. Our ERGs are also key to our commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I). We continually support employees who come from different backgrounds as it helps us to promote innovation and increase productivity among our team.
