We are honoured to have HRH The Princess Royal as our patron.
HRH The Princess Royal became the Patron of WISE in 2000. Over the last two decades she has regularly spoken at WISE events, meeting WISE members, supporters and staff.
Her Royal Highness says of her work with WISE:
“If we want girls to have the best possible futures in these careers, we need to make sure they have the skills and qualifications required. More importantly, if we want the best possible future for our country, we need to be using the talents of the whole population.”
In 2021, The Princess Royal attended an online celebration of the WISE 1 of the Million campaign. The WISE 1 of the Million campaign is an online campaign, celebrating the significant achievements of the 1 million women working in STEM in the UK and seeks to build community during a time in which support and personal connections are very much needed.
At the WISE Online celebration event HRH The Princess Royal said
“STEM workers are essential contributors, and equal among them, and often leading the way, are many, many women.I hope women already working and studying in STEM will keep sharing their stories because I have no doubt that those stories will inspire others.To reach one million women working in STEM was no mean achievement and every one of the million can make a difference to the next million.”
