The WISE Young Professionals’ Board is excited to announce that we are seeking new advocates for equality to join us from 2022.
The WISE Young Professionals Board (WYPB) is comprised of 12 successful young role models in their industries, informing the strategy of, and providing insight and feedback to the main WISE Campaign Board.
The WYPB also runs its own independent initiatives, such as writing blogs, collaborating with Harper Collins on educational materials for Primary Age students, coordinating competitions, producing social media content, and other initiatives to engage students in STEM amongst activities including representing WISE at events.
The WYPB is a great opportunity for rising stars in STEM to use their passion to make an impact in our industries, gain valuable training and board experience, and for companies to demonstrate their commitment to diversity and inclusion by supporting a WYPB member through their term. For 2022, we’re looking for at least five additions to replace our outgoing members.
Please note, that in order to ensure diversity of composition across STEM industries, we do not have more than one WYPB member from a given company at the same time, so it is unlikely that in 2022 we would recruit another member from Arup, AstraZeneca, Capgemini, Cardiff Metropolitan University, CGL, Shell, or Warner Media, as these companies will already be represented on the Board in 2022.
The time commitment we ask from sponsoring companies is typically 12 working days a year, including four in-person Board meetings, and financial commitment from companies in supporting the WYPB with travel and accommodation to attend.
Applications are open until 6PM on 1 November 2021.
Remote interviews will be held via MS Teams/Phone between 15-19 November 2021
To qualify you must:
Applications are open to all who meet the above criteria, this includes all genders, abilities, nationalities, and stages in career.
