People Like Me is a resource designed to help girls understand who they are and how this relates to roles in the workplace. It uses the natural tendency of girls to articulate their self-identity using adjectives, to show them that people like them are happy and successful working in careers in STEM.
As an employer, you have a real opportunity to help challenge perceptions of STEM careers, raising awareness and aspirations of your future workforce.
Being evidence-based and independently evaluated, People Like Me will strengthen any outreach programme you are currently running or plan to set up. WISE can help you with this through our step by step guide (see the graphic below!) to implementing People Like Me within your organisation.

People Like Me training
WISE has been delivering face to face People Like Me training to companies, organisations and individuals since September 2015. We have now developed our NEW online training platform. This allows 30 ambassadors from your organisation to be trained to deliver the People Like Me resource as part of your outreach programme.
The training includes:
- An Introduction to People Like Me.
- Raising awareness of unconscious bias.
- The People Like Me trainer QUIZ!
- How to deliver People Like Me in School.
- Extension sessions on… How to involve Role models, Mother and Daughter sessions & Homework suggestions.
- Additional resources to support you with outreach.
Our new online portal enables your ambassadors to take the course as a complete unit or dip in and out to fit around their work schedule. Alternatively, we can offer you a classroom session for up to 15. To find out more contact email@example.com.
We’ve already trained a wide range of organisations to deliver. Here are some top tips from two of our closest partners – join them and train your team!
Role models needed!
Want to join our NEW role model platform launching later this year?
We’ll then be able to create you your own People Like Me case study and include it on the site!
