An Introduction to the Ten Steps
Using the WISE Ten Steps to improve gender balance across your organisation.
What is it?
This is a 3hr workshop which will introduce you to the Ten Steps. We will explain how to apply the Ten Steps diagnostic tool to evaluate your current position. Together we will work through your WISE Ten Steps diagnostic results, to identify the areas which require most attention and focus on and look at a range of practical interventions that might help address those shortcomings.
Why should you consider it?
The Ten Steps is an ambitious campaign to ensure that industry makes the most of its women. This is not simply a diversity issue or a matter of good management practice. It is a business imperative. Industry can no longer afford to neglect the potential of female scientists, engineers, technologists and managers.
Each of the Ten Steps will drive company performance. Taken together, the Ten Steps can make a significant difference to the recruitment, retention and progression of women.
The WISE approach
During the workshop WISE will work with you to identify which of the Steps in a priority for your business by:
- Introduction and scene setting
- Discussion of your diagnostic results
- Looking at practical interventions using life examples from other signatories
- Creating an action plan
We will facilitate discussion to inform your business planning, so that you leave the workshop with ideas and practical actions points best use of the most talented people.
Before the session participants will be asked to go through the diagnostic independently and submit the results for pre-session analysis.
After the session deliver a short summary on the diagnostic results, discussion and action plan.
Additional content, examples and exercises can be used to customise this session. Our trainer will discuss this with you prior to delivery to ensure the best fit for your organisation.
