Head of Relationship Management

Dean joined WISE in January 2019 as Membership Manager. His role is to engage with organisations in the STEM sector to build relationships with new and existing members and highlight the importance of inspiring the next generation. Dean is delighted to be joining WISE at this exciting time in the organisation’s 35 year history and is looking forward to further raising awareness of the importance of employing women in STEM roles and the value they add to the workforce.

Dean has over 20 years experience in business development roles, most recently at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers where he was responsible for promoting the benefits of professional registration to engineers in a variety of settings. Previously, Dean has worked at the Crown Commercial Service, providing procurement solutions for educational establishments, particularly Universities and Academies. He has also been a Regional Advisor at OCR, sourcing and developing partnerships with Local Authorities, schools and colleges to advise on various qualifications and increase sales. He also holds a degree in Estate Management (Surveying) which he gained from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle.

Dean is passionate and keen to help people realise their full potential. He ran a successful project aimed at assisting unemployed people overcome multiple barriers and return to sustainable work.

Dean is a keen drummer, however prefers to keep on good terms with his neighbours, so these days he uses an electronic kit with headphones!!
