WISE partnered Tara Binns books win Teach Primary award

We are delighted to announce that the Tara Binns reading books, published by Collins in partnership with WISE, has been named as the 3-star winner in the STEM category of the Teach Primary awards 2020

Written by author Lisa Rajan, the books offer an accessible, exciting, and engaging way to explore the possibilities offered by science, technology, engineering, and maths, with an empowering female role model at the forefront. WISE Young Professional’s Board (WISE YPB) were involved in finding role models to write the accompanying case studies. You can read them here.

“The books are educational, inspirational, aspirational and reasonably priced. They can be linked to the science learning in each year group, to further deepen and enrich the science learning, but they can also be used at any time to support reading, so are versatile. The case studies are particularly useful as they are related to real life STEM workers from a diverse background. An enjoyable set of reading books for KS1 and KS2.” Judge from the Primary Science Trust – Teach Primary awards 2020

The WISE Young Professional’s Board would like to thank Nadia Earl for co-leading the project with Frida Nzaba and Gisela Rossi and supporting Harper Collins in the creation of the case studies. Nadia Earl will be stepping down from the board at the end of 2020.
