WISE board member makes list of top 50 women in engineering

WISE board member, Dr Nina Skorupska CBE, Chief Executive of the Renewable Energy Association (REA) is named in a list of the top 50 women in engineering published today in the Daily Telegraph to coincide with National Women in Engineering Day.
Helen Wollaston, Chief Executive for WISE said; “I was delighted to see Nina on the list because she is such an inspiring role model to show girls how they could make a difference through a career in engineering. It is great to see the variety of companies and sectors represented, many of whom already work with us to inspire other women to follow in their footsteps. There is a powerful message for employers here about the rich pool of talent available to those who embed diversity into their business strategy”.
Dr Nina Skorupska CBE, Chief Executive of the REA commented: “I am honoured to have been named alongside such extraordinary women.
“Renewable energy is an exciting and rapidly growing field to work in, it is our future. I hope to be a role model, and call on girls and women to join us in tackling the challenges of climate change.”
The inaugural list, compiled by the Telegraph in collaboration with the Women’s Engineering Society features the UK’s top influential female engineers chosen form almost 900 nominations.
