What projects / schemes / initiatives to support women’s recruitment, retention and progression in STEM are Redrow Homes Ltd involved in?
At Redrow we work hard to recruit and retain a diverse workforce to ensure we have the supply of skills the business needs for the future
We constantly strive to promote diversity and particularly focus on attracting female new entrants into construction and technical roles that are currently male dominated.
This is achieved through a range of training programmes and we continually explore ways to recruit accordingly. For example, we have had success recently in our graduate intake by widening our focus from sector relevant degrees to all degrees and 33.8% of our current graduates are now female.
We have introduced a mentoring scheme for our female trainees to make the most of the excellent role models we have within the business and to facilitate promoting more women into senior positions.
Redrow partners with organisations to help attract young people into the industry and focusses on providing opportunities for social and economic progression. We engage with schools to support and promote our efforts to “inspire the next generation to build”.
We invest heavily in training and development to help all our people fulfil their potential and ensuring we continue to be a great place to work, supporting colleagues’ wellbeing.
Why did Redrow Homes Ltd join WISE?
“We joined WISE to further enhance our reach and access to training, networking and resources that can help support our efforts to continue to attract and retain more women into our industry.”
