Welsh Water is the only not-for-profit utility company in Wales and England – meaning it has no shareholders, and its sole focus is on providing the best-possible service to its customers. It is the sixth-largest of the 10 regulated water and sewerage companies in Wales and England, and the fifth-largest company based in Wales. It is responsible for providing more than three million people with a continuous, high-quality supply of drinking water and for taking away, treating and properly disposing of their wastewater, at the lowest-possible cost.

“It’s quite simple really. Our people are our biggest assets and if we are to realise our vision to earn the trust of customers and become a truly world class water company, we need to ensure that we have a modern, diverse workforce which reflects the communities we serve. Traditionally, the water sector is male-dominated but we are determined to use Wise’s expertise and guidance to help develop female colleagues within the areas of science, technology and engineering in our company but also play our part in enabling the female colleagues of tomorrow to pursue their interests in these areas while learning at schools and universities.”
