Who are CEMAR?
CEMAR provides simple to use contract management Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions focusing on the NEC suite of contracts. We have also created a FIDIC module to sit alongside our off the shelf NEC forms. In addition to contract management we offer an intuitive Change Control Toolset (CCT) providing clients a simple way to track internal programme change.
Our CEMAR Analytics reporting suite provides aggregated reporting, charts, dashboards and business intelligent analysis. We work closely with clients and other SaaS providers to integrate and maximise the value of bespoke contract management with the power of shared data in Common Data Environments (CDE).
What projects / schemes / initiatives to support women’s recruitment, retention and progression in STEM are CEMAR involved in?
As a small business CEMAR is ideally placed to provide an inclusive and open environment for women to build and grow their careers. In the last two years CEMAR’s workforce has doubled in size and women make up a third of that team with responsibilities in account management, business management and technical roles. CEMAR will actively pursue a policy of increasing that balance across our business.
Recruitment of local apprentices has been central to our growth plans and our latest recruit, Marjona Halimova, recently won the Best Apprentice from Gloucestershire College’s Department of Computing having only worked with us for 6 months.
Marjona says about WISE – “I feel that membership of the WISE campaign will help more women break through the ‘glass ceiling’ and reach their full potential. As more women progress and reach the top jobs in science, technology and engineering, they will act as role models for the younger generation thus increasing progression.”
We recently attended the WISE “Men of Action” conference and by joining and promoting events such as this, whilst ensuring that women across our whole business are given every opportunity to contribute and succeed, we feel CEMAR can be a force for positive change in the world of science, technology and engineering.
Jennifer Grimshaw, Trainee Software Developer, “Knowing that the business I work for is involved in the WISE campaign allows me to get involved with making others aware that roles, stereotypically associated by gender, are available to those with the skills and ambitions to pursue them.”
Why did CEMAR join WISE?
Nick Woodrow, Director – “CEMAR has joined the WISE campaign as we recognise that there is a significant lack of gender equality in STEM industries and talented people from all backgrounds are essential to improve our business, our service to customers and help impact on a wider positive change to society.”
