Technical Services are looking for two exceptional individuals to join Manchester Met’s Technical Services Senior Leadership Team. As Technical Services Business Partners, you will bring extensive experience managing technical resources in a large organisation and be able to demonstrate success managing people, facilities and resources. You will have excellent operational skills with a thorough understanding of digital and new technology relevant to the key areas you will be supporting. You will have the energy and drive to lead continual improvements in our technical resource offering, ensuring that Manchester Met remains a leading institution in cutting-edge technological delivery.

A large and diverse team of technicians ensure that the University functions efficiently and delivers the levels of student experience both our undergraduates and postgraduates deserve and expect of us. Working in specialist laboratories, workshops, studios and IT facilities, our technical professionals play a key role supporting, guiding and advising across our university from sciences, art, design and technology, through to sports, ceramics, nursing and physiotherapy.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join Manchester Met as part of a senior team who will manage technical recourses across the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and MMU Cheshire (approx. 100 staff) and across the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care (approx. 150 staff) .

Experience of managing and developing appropriate H&S and compliance routines and practices is key to these roles and you will be able to demonstrate a breadth of knowledge in regards to health and safety systems.

You will have a thorough understanding of the HE sector, in particular the issues currently facing the technical workforce, you will bring skills and knowledge relating to the role quality technical services play in enabling delivery of Research, Education and Knowledge Exchange ambitions.

You will be able to operate in a complex organisation with the ability to influence and work collaboratively with stakeholders through effective communication and engagement.

Above all, we are looking for creative individuals who can effectively manage and implement resources and provide leadership to a multi-skilled and talented group of technical staff. Individuals with a strong commitment to delivering a quality service to staff and students across the organisation.
