Senior Lecturer in Architecture and Course Leader for MARCH RIBA Part 2
£39,190 - £49,604 p.a.
Huddersfield
Permanent, Full Time
Ref:

The Department of Architecture and 3D Design has a long history of excellence across Architecture, Architectural Technology, Interior Design and Product Design. It has recently expanded to incorporate courses on the Built Environment area, and is establishing a REF (Research Excellence Framework) return in this area.

The study of architecture in Huddersfield was formalised in 1921 by the establishment of a course in the School of Art, one of the forerunners of the present University. Degrees in Architecture have been offered since 1977 and the current pattern of education stems from the establishment of the BA (Hons) Architecture (International) course in 1989.

Our Architecture courses have been in between the top 10 in the UK for the past 3 years, according to the Guardian League Table. Huddersfield is a TEF Gold rated University, winner of the HEA Global Teaching Excellence Award in 2017.

This post will form part of a dynamic team, which will focus on innovative and contemporary practice and research across Architecture. You will have the opportunity to lead our Masters of Architecture programmes.

You should have appropriate teaching experience at HE Level and a strong awareness of Architecture and its relation to context. A strong ability to contribute to research in this field as well as to curriculum planning and teaching delivery is essential. You should have relevant industrial experience, and a PhD in a related subject area. Furthermore, experience in programme leadership is desirable.

You will be joining a dedicated, passionate and forward-thinking Architecture and Built Environment team and will be expected to demonstrate excellence in your work, which will be strongly supported through personal development plans.
