Lecturer /Senior Lecturer/Reader in Robotics

Applications are invited for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer or Reader in Robotics to join the School of Informatics, at the University of Edinburgh. The post is based within the School’s Institute of Perception, Action and Behaviour but potentially has links to other Institutes and Schools as detailed below.
We are seeking current and future leaders in the field. The successful candidate will have (or be close to completion of) a PhD, with the expectation that the PhD would be awarded prior to starting the post; an established research agenda and the enthusiasm and ability to undertake original research, to lead a research group; the ability to engage with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and academic supervision; and the ability to be involved in enhancing eLearning and on-line teaching initiatives.
We currently have one position available however may wish to recruit additional positions in the case of exceptional applicants. Additionally, in the case of an exceptional applicant, an appointment may be available as a Senior Lecturer or Reader (Grade UE09). Job descriptions for each level are outlined below. The level of appointment would be determined by the selection panel following interview in Edinburgh in early 2018.
Appointment will be full-time and open-ended.
Lecturer: Grade UE08 (£39,992 - £47,722)
Senior Lecturer or Reader: Grade UE09 (£50,618 - £56,950)
