Official WISE Event
Wednesday 18 May | 12:30 – 13:00
The winner of the Covid Unsung Heroes Community Champion Award, Ms Susan McDonald, will discuss her award winning work for NHS Test and Trace with Prof. Dame Sue Hill (Chief Scientific Officer for England) and Angela Douglas (Deputy Chief Scientific Officer) from NHS England. The conversation promises to be an insightful one to women with an interest in STEM subjects. Susan will discuss the project herself, as well as her career history in science, engineering and industry with a focus on how we can make the industries more diverse and inclusive. These issues are close to her heart, since the Covid-19 testing service for which she was nominated made the service more accessible to ethnic minority groups; blind and partially sighted people; as well as those shielding or self-isolating. The work impressed the judges unanimously. A Q&A section will encourage participation from attendees.Register
