Women in Innovation – What can be done to extend collaboration & increase female participation?
Women and men are equally creative but women remain under-represented in many areas of innovation. What can be done to foster more inclusive innovation ecosystems in which both men and women thrive?
Recent reports have shown that funding, convincing others, finding partners with appropriate skills and resources and finding time were the biggest barriers to many female innovators bringing a new idea to market. A lack of change in culture in larger companies and the perceived glass ceiling also discouraged women from pursuing a new project.
We will be exploring these challenges with insights from WISE members 3M, AWE, ARM and University of Strathclyde at this knowledge sharing event, which is kindly hosted by 3M at their Innovation Centre in Bracknell.
The keynote talks will be followed by a round table discussion following World Café Rules.

There will also be the opportunity to experience a tour of the 3M Innovation Centre, which was opened by Professor Brian Cox in September 2014, and includes hands-on demonstrations and detailed case studies
