She has over 10 years’ experience designing and implementing Diversity and inclusion initiatives across the charity\, public and private sector. This has included WISE\, Girlguiding and Department for Transport. Shagufta is passionate about D&I and regularly speaks at events and conferences and delivers training on D&I topics.  \n  \nHilary Royston-Bishop  \nHilary is the Research and Development Manager at Sellafield Ltd and is responsible for managing the long term R&D needs to support decommissioning one of the most complex Nuclear sites in the world. She is a physicist by training having studied Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Birmingham and then completed a Masters in the Physics and Technology of Nuclear Reactors.   \nShe is also the lead for Sellafield’s relationship with the WISE Campaign\, she is the training and skills lead for Women in Nuclear (Cumbria) and is also involved in Sellafield’s Gender Balance Network. Hilary was awarded Women In Nuclear’s 2023 Champion of the year for the work she has done on improvements to gender balance in Cumbria’s Nuclear Industry.  \nHilary has two daughters (aged 7 and 5) and it is because of them that she became involved in gender balance work; with a desire to challenge the status quo and make working experiences better. Specifically so no-one else experiences being walked in on when expressing milk in the workplace!   \n \nAlan Rankin \nAlan is the Diversity\, Inclusion\, Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead at Sellafield\, and has leads a small team of D&I Advisers\, who are driving and embedding inclusion into the business.  He has over 30 years experience in HR\, in both the nuclear and steel industries and is a Fellow of the CIPD.  Alan is a Committee Member of Cumbria Women in Nuclear and is Chair of Trustees and Safeguarding Lead at a large secondary academy.  He also chairs the Cumbria Police\, Fire and Crime Commissioners Ethics and Integrity Panel\, and Chairs the Cumbria Police Independent Assurance Group.  \nAlan was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022 by Diverse Cumbria in recognition of the work he has led in inclusion in his current roles\, and in previous roles volunteering with Young Enterprise and other school governance roles in both the primary sector and for a multi academy trust.  \nAlan has two daughters aged 17 and 20\, who are both at college/university and is passionate about improving workplaces for everyone\, removing barriers and obstacles for people\, and enabling people to be the best they can be\, whatever skills\, attributes or characteristics they have.   \nRegister Here\nSending your Pre-Event Diagnostic \nYour gender balance success starts with successful benchmarking\, and seeing how your organisation is performing against the Ten Steps framework. The Women’s Network has led the way in Thames Water by supporting women through circles\, lunch and learns\, celebrating women through events such as International Women’s Day and running campaigns such as the Menopause Campaign and the Maternity Returners Campaign. Dina is most proud of the Women’s Network Allies Programme which is aimed at senior male leaders\, raising their awareness of the challenges faced by women in Thames and giving those male allies the tools to make a difference.   \n  \nSakinah Merali \n \nSakinah has been working as a Technical Consultant at Capgemini Engineering for 3 years\, primarily working as a Software Developer in the life sciences area. Alongside her day job\, she co-leads the Capgemini Engineering UK Women’s Network\, where she organises regular events aimed at opening discussions and educating staff on issues surrounding gender diversity in the workplace\, and works to make Capgemini Engineering a more inclusive workplace.   \n  \nSiobhan Sweeney \n \nSiobhan is a dynamic and experienced professional with over 15 years in the Financial Service Industry. Operating as a trusted leader\, Siobhan led Diversity & Inclusion for AIB\, developing its Diversity & Inclusion strategy to further evolve mindsets into breaking down unconscious biases\, raising awareness\, and delivering supportive initiatives across AIB.  \nIn January 2020\, Siobhan completed a secondment from AIB to the Open Doors Initiative where she worked as Director of Development\, Diversity and Inclusion. Through her role with ODI\, Siobhan provided opportunities to some of the underrepresented members of our society: refugees\, asylum seekers\, non-native English speakers\, Young people under 25 with educational barriers\, and People with a disability. Siobhan worked at HubSpot as Global leader for Diversity\, Inclusion and Belonging.  Siobhan had the opportunity to move the dial on a number of strategic company objectives.   \nIn January 2023\, Siobhan moved to Element as Global Senior Director of Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion. Siobhan is excited to embark on this new journey with the organisation and execute on the companies Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion commitments. Ola has been appointed this year’s UN Women UK Delegate to the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) as well as the Lead of Digital Women Programme at Arup. She has an MSc in Innovation\, Leadership and Management\, and in her current doctoral research she is investigating not one but three big topics – Digital\, Inclusivity and Sustainability in the emerging context of global polycrisis. \nThe latest UN report warns that at the current rate of progress in will take up to 286 years to close the inequality gap. Why does it matter in a context of digital? Because this gap directly translates to the effectiveness of our technologies\, many of which are built upon discriminatory and unequal systems and frameworks. How can a relational approach to digital\, inclusivity and sustainability unlock new potentials and capabilities\, and form a blueprint for 21st century organisational management and leadership? \nOla will join the morning panel discussion along with other experts in the diversity and inclusion field to discuss the opportunities organisations can create to build an inclusive future for women in STEM. \nThe Afternoon Plenary\nThe afternoon plenary aims to inspire STEM professionals into action by offering clear take-aways and tips to enable individuals to be more inclusive in the workplace. \nKate Bellingham has had what is best described as a ‘portfolio’ career.
