What projects / schemes / initiatives to support women’s recruitment, retention and progression in STEM are Collins Aerospace involved in? 

At Collins Aerospace we know diversity drives innovation and inclusion drives success and that’s why we’re proud to be sponsoring this year’s awards which celebrate the achievements of women in Science, Engineering, Maths and Technology. We believe a multitude of approaches and ideas enable us to deliver the best results for our workforce, workplace and customers. We are committed to fostering a culture where we attract the very best talent and where all our employees can share their passions and ideas so we can tackle the toughest challenges in our industry and pave new paths to limitless possibility irrespective of gender. 

We take part in many STEM indicative directed to women: 

In February 2021 we celebrated the 20 year anniversary of Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, where middle-school girls and Collins volunteers from sites across the world team up to envision a future with more female engineers. 

For the last few years, we have had representation as a judge role for IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year Awards, giving us the opportunity to meet inspiring women engineers from UK. 

We also support the Industrial Cadets Gold Award from the Engineering Development Trust. In 2021, five female students 12/S5 mentored by our Engineer, developed a social distancing aid to be used within schools.
