Research Associate in Synthetic Organic Chemistry

We seek to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated scientist with proven intellectual and technical abilities to work on a synthetic organic chemistry project as a 2-year project, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) with Dr Melen.
The overall focus of the programme is the synthesis of new organic compounds containing Lewis acidic and basic sites for applications in metal-free catalysis. Experience in synthetic organic chemistry is essential with air-sensitive synthetic techniques and a range of characterisation methods are highly desirable.
Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant area of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, or relevant industrial experience.

This position is full time (35 hours per week) and is available from 1 September 2018 for 2 years.
Salary: £32,548 - £38,833 per annum (Grade 6). It is not anticipated that an appointment be made above £32,548 per annum (Point 30).
