Research Associate in Organic / Bioorganic Chemistry
Cardiff School of Chemistry
We seek to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated scientist with proven intellectual and technical abilities to work on a synthetic organic / bioorganic chemistry project. The one year project, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, involves a collaboration between Professors Allemann and Wirth.
The overall focus of the programme is the development of flow chemistry methodology to convert accessible precursor molecules into artemisinin. Experience with flow chemistry techniques and a range of characterisation methods are highly desirable.
Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree at PhD level in organic / bioorganic chemistry or equivalent, or relevant industrial experience.

This position is full time (35 hours per week) and is available from 1 April 2018 until 31 March 2019.
Salary: £32,548 - £38,833 per annum (Grade 6). It is not anticipated that an appointment be made above £34,520 per annum (Point 32)
