Research Associate in Data Science & Cyber Analytics
Airbus Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Analytics, Cardiff University School of Computer Science & Informatics

Applications are invited for a Research Associate in Data Science & Cyber Analytics post in the Airbus Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Analytics at Cardiff University's School of Computer Science & Informatics. This is a full time, fixed-term post for 30 months, starting on 1st March 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be dedicated to finding creative solutions and have a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm to undertake world-class research in the field of data science and cyber security. This will involve conducting data science and cyber security research within the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) funded “Chatty Factories” project, which investigates novel use of Internet of Things and data-driven technologies to build 'Factories of the Future', and contribute to the overall research performance of the School and University by the production of measurable outputs including bidding for funding, publishing in national academic journals and conferences, and the recruitment and supervision of postgraduate research students. You will work closely with Dr Pete Burnap at Cardiff University and team members located in Bath, Nottingham, Edinburgh and Lancaster. You will possess or be near to completion of, a PhD in Data/Computer Science or a related area, or have relevant industrial experience.

This is a full-time post, fixed-term for 30 months.

The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience, within the Grade 6 scale.

Salary:£32,548 - £38,833 per annum (Grade 6)
