Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology
A set of awards to honor distinguished technical women and those who are working towards the recruitment, retention and advancement of technical women.

The Antarctic Science Bursary
Awards of up to £5000 are made annually to support the development of the careers of promising young scientists, working in any field of Antarctic science.

The Council for Assisting Refugee Academics (CARA)
CARA's UK Grant  Programme for Refugee academics and Iraq Fellowship Programmes lie at the heart of its core aim to provide practical assistance to displaced, refugee and at-risk academics.

Crest Awards
CREST is a project-based awards scheme for the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) giving 11-19yr olds opportunities to explore real-world projects in an exciting way.

Daphne Jackson Trust
Enables scientists, engineers and IT specialists to return to work after career breaks.

E3 Academy
Offers three or four year sponsorship to undergraduate students studying Electrical (Energy) Engineering at the Universities of Nottingham, Bristol or Newcastle.

Directory of organisations funding women in education and training visits.

Fran Trust
The Fran Trust funds scholarly activity in the fields of feminism, gender or women's studies.  The Trust provides small grants of up to £500 for postgraduate students studying at UK universities to attend and present papers on a gender-related topic at academic conferences in the UK.

Gilchrist Educational Trust
Grants to Individuals and Organisations. The Trust supports a number of small or medium-sized British expeditions with teams of three or more proposing to carry out research of a scientific nature in another country. The biennial Gilchrist Fieldwork Award of £15,000 is offered every even-numbered year for the best overseas research proposal by a small team of qualified scientists or academics in the U.K.

Grants for horticulturalists
Information on grants and bursaries available from organisations in the United Kingdom for horticultural projects, exchanges and travel.

HEFCE Postgraduate Support Scheme
2014-2015 Postgraduate students at more than 40 universities can receive support through the HEFCE Postgraduate Support Scheme, a £25 million publicly-funded programme. Some funding includes support for women in STEM, including the University of Bath.

Helen Kennedy Foundation
There are two programmes: Bursaries are available to students currently studying at a FE college or sixth form college and applying to enter university. The second program is for asylum seekers, refugees and those with indefinite or discretionary leave to remain. The program provides fee waivers to students studying at the participating Universities.

Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)
In 2013, the IET provided over £1,000,000 in awards, prizes and scholarships to celebrate excellence, innovation and encouragement of the next generation of engineers and technicians. The IET will maintain this investment in 2014 with its portfolio of awards which includes Diamond Jubilee scholarships, Apprentice and Technician awards, scholarships in India, the Present around the World competition and the IET A F Harvey Engineering Research Prize.

Leverhulme Research and Education Grants
Makes awards for the support of research and education.

L'Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science
The programme recognises the achievements and contributions of exceptional females across the globe, by awarding promising scientists with Fellowships to help further their research.

The National Science + Engineering Competition
Open to 11-18 year olds in the UK. There is over £50,000 of prizes up for grabs including cash awards and trips abroad.

Overseas Research Students Award Scheme
ORSAS was set up by the Secretary of State for Education and Science in 1979 to attract high-quality international students to the United Kingdom to undertake research.

Harriet Vickers, winner of the 2013 scholarshipRange Rover Evoque WISE Scholarship
This award runs each year for 3 years from 2013 - information is published in the Spring of each year. An exciting collaboration between Jaguar Land Rover and WISE to offer sponsorship to three female scholars wishing to pursue engineering at University or as an apprentice.

RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects)
RIBA Award winning-schemes set the standard for great architecture all across the country.

The Royal Academy of Engineering
Has a number of different awards and prizes.

Royal Meteorological Society
The Rupert Ford Award is awarded to outstanding young scientists from any part of the world to enable them to undertake research work or study in meteorology or associated physical oceanography. The Legacies Fund is made up of small monetary grants made to members (usually younger scientists) to help finance expeditions, carry our research or attend meteorological conferences.

Royal Microscopial Society
The Society operates an annual bursary fund that supports its members to attend conferences and workshops both at home and overseas.

The Royal Society Grants
Provides a range of grant schemes to support the UK scientific community and foster collaboration between UK based and overseas scientists.

Royal Society Awards
The Royal Society recognises excellence in science and technology through its medals, awards and prize lectures.

Royal Society of Chemistry
There are over 60 Prizes and Awards available, covering all areas of the chemical sciences.  So whether you work in research, business, industry or education, recognition is open to everyone.

Science and Technology Facilities Council
Provides funding for academic research, studentships, industrial collaborations, science communicators and others.

The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings
Scholarships for a nine month training programme in practical building conservation.

The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust
Focus is on black and ethnic minority students of architecture, built environment and regeneration.

Traditional Building Skills Bursary Scheme
An innovative, flexible and inclusive work-based training scheme to help displaced apprentices complete their apprenticeships, gain a vocational qualification, and develop their building skills to work on older buildings.

Very Early Career Woman Physicist Prize
The Women in Physics Group invites applications from women at the start of their careers in physics who have made a substantial contribution to the subject and have undertaken activities to support and encourage others in the field. The prize is awarded annually.

Wellcome Trust
Supports research into all aspects of biomedical science.

WEST BursariesWEST bursaries
Apply for a grant of up to £500 if you are a women living in Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and want to study for a job or opportunity in science and technology. This includes manual trades from electrical engineering and car mechanics through to plumbing and construction.

Winston Churchill Memorial Trust
We award Travelling Fellowships to British citizens from all walks of life to travel overseas, to bring back knowledge and best practice for the benefit of others in their UK professions and communities.

Women's Engineering Society
Awards are regularly offered by WES, depending on the funds available.
