WISE Ten Steps: Educate your leaders  When we think of our successes most of us will cite the influence of mentors or sponsors – these people can have more impact on our lives than any other. Within an organisation, mentoring schemes can help improve diversity and inclusion in many ways: these include boosting leadership skills, helping to educate senior leaders on cultural change, onboard new starters, and welcoming returners back into the fold.  An organisation looking to start a scheme should decide on the organisational change they most want to see then choose the mentoring model most likely to deliver that change. There are several types of scheme and this piece takes a close look at mentoring circles, reverse mentoring, and one on one ‘active listening’.
